| Everyone hears stories about how the great artists get started; they start off playing something that they don't enjoy and end up changing their instrument, and with it they change their lives and destiny. Matthew Stoner is one of those artists. Starting off playing piano by ear, he was unable to take any form of lesson, and took off on his own, writing two small compositions which were never shared outside of his home. He recieved his first guitar from his uncle when he was 6 years old, and it sat around his house for a couple of years before he began to attempt to play it. Finally, in 2001 when Matthew recieved his first electric guitar, he began to teach himself to play. He took lessons for about 6 months, but then discovered that it was easier to teach himself. In early 2006, he recieved his first true acoustic guitar and began to teach himself.
Matt wrote his first song, "Staring At The Sky" in late 2005 for an improv show that he was doing in Laguna Beach, and he immediately fell in love with writing and composing music for the guitar. He continued to write until he had compiled a base of 9 songs, and then went into the studio in mid 2006 to record his first Demo CD, "Staring At The Sky", appropriately named after his first song. Although it was only a rough recording, it helped to expose his name and music to the public and give him audiences that he wanted. In late 2006, after selling close to 100 copies of his Demo to friends and family, Matt decided to "retire" the original Demo and re-record it for a more accurate sound of his music. But this time, he decided to do it himself. He went out and got the best industry standard recording equipment he could get and set out to rework his original recording, but still keep it completely acoustic.
Matt finds truth in his music, and writes from his heart, not from his head. He doesn't write to sell his music, he writes to tell a story;the truth - and to find people that can relate to his music and can benefit from the art that he creates. This is why he felt the need to return to the studio yet again with the new truth he created, with an attempt to record his first ever full album. And thats where we stand now...To Be Continued... |

| | Hey Everyone!!
I have just recently recieved some new recording equipment that will soon be recording the music that you will hear on here! So be patient for that to come. While I'm waiting for that, I am going to put some old music up on there-- and i apologize in advance for the inexperiencness of the recording (yeah, i just made up my own word). Hopefully I'll be able to improve the sound by recording it myself, so you'll have to bear with me in the mean time.
